[Mnbird] Major gull flight last night

I saw it as well, starting about 7:40 p.m. and lasting until a few minutes after 8:00.  They were heading south, from the northwest.  Last year about this time of year, I heard this too - but many fewer than the hundreds I observed last night.

Hello, MnBirders:
Went out to fill a bird feeder last night, around 8:15 p.m. and was
surprised to hear the calls of many gulls. Looking up, I watched
wave after wave of gulls pass overhead, there must have been
hundreds of them flying over the northwest corner of St. Paul.
Later, around 9 p.m. a friend in Minneapolis, near the Lake St.
Bridge, heard and saw a similar phenomenon.

I’ve never seen anything like this before, and wonder if it was
unusual (high numbers of gulls, flying in the dark) and whether
others observed this, too.
