[Mnbird] cats

Recent letters to the StarTribune lamented an apparent shortage of songbirds in some Minneapolis neighborhoods. 
A low population of songbirds in Minneapolis might well be due a large population of house cats allowed to roam and hunt outdoors. Minneapolis has many advocates of feral cats which prey heavily on birds. And sadly, many cat owners think it is proper for their pets to follow their instincts and disrupt avian populations.
