hopped up on my window sill 
cocked his shining eye and said, 
"What are we having for dinner, mother? 
Goose?" 

I remember that from elementary school days. 

Cold winter mornings in Hopkins with the coal furnace not yet stoked and WCCO on the radio. 

Brought to us by Cocoa Wheats. I used to buy a pack of sunflower seeds (salted) and insert the seeds into the crevices in the bark of a plum tree for chickadees and nuthatches, It took me a long to to figure out that birds don't eat soot, they were talking about suet. Duh.
