I was duly corrected. Turkey Vulture.
My bad. I don't know why I wrote that.
I have seen black vultures, but nowhere near here!
Now, I DO know many people who see vultures circling overhead and say -
look! Eagles!
Which is when I explain the dihedral wings and the tipping vs soaring
regally.

Got a black vulture tipping in circles over the river here in st Michael.
I always think they must be thinking, "wish I were an eagle" as they tip
this way and that, meanwhile the eagles soar with nary a flap of wing,
making it appear so simple, this flight business.
