I am sorry that you lost your Brown Creeper, Don. These birds and their antics sure help me get through a long winter. We have a pair of Trumpeter Swans that have just taken up residence in our yard. We live on open water, so it's not surprising to see them,
just surprising how comfortable these two seem to be with our proximity. Any suggestions on how to be good neighbors to these two? Becky - North Oaks</div>

This was sad for me to hear. I too am very fond of Brown Creepers. I have seen one frequently this month. I too have never seen more than one at a time until last week when I saw two climbing a large Red Oak. From the house I was only able to get a photos of
one because by the time I focused the other had gone its merry way.

<div class="">A brown creeper, one of my favorite winter birds, died this afternoon along side the walk that runs from the driveway to the front door of my home. It was not there when I left the house at 1:15 pm, but was there when I returned at 3:45. It did
not appear to have been attacked or killed by a predator. Just there, very visible, on top of the snow. I delight in seeing this obscure species every day at my suet feeder on the trunk of an oak tree. I even make sure some tiny morsels are squished into
the bark to make it easier for them to find food. They also go onto the ground to pick up the tiniest bits that fall from the aggressive pecking of the other suet feeders.</div>
