Presumably they were Tundra Swans heading north, but that was unexpected so late in the season. Are there any such big flocks of the re-introduced Trumpeters? E-bird doesn’t show any records of Tundra’s in Minnesota after April, though Janssen (1987) gives a late/south date of May 29.
