leucisism implies a lack of pigment and we know jays do not have blue pigment.
The normal blue color is caused by light interaction with</DIV>

<P>Hey everyone,</P>
<P><BR>In spite of the above normal temps continuing in Minnesota, bird activity
is quickly shifting from migration to winter residents. I have still been
getting into the field to do a bit of banding and had a couple of interesting
catches. I posted photos of a Brown Creeper I caught and a Bluejay with unusual
