<DIV>Saturday at our cabin on Platte Lake (SE of Brainerd) the temp was 26 at 8
AM. It was the best birding day ever from inside the cabin-- see list
below.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>The highlight-- at midmorning at least 20 tree swallows swirled around and
around the cabin, swooping within a few inches of the windows and walls, under
the eaves etc. This frantic activity went on for about 15 minutes.
Then they left as suddenly as they came. We'd be interested to know
whether anyone else has observed this behavior.</DIV>
