<DIV>We had set up provisions for the birds and observed the following from the
comfort of the cabin:</DIV>
<DIV>Scarlet tanager (at the suet feeder!)</DIV>
<DIV>Catbird (fought the tanager for suet privileges)</DIV>
<DIV>Baltimore Oriole</DIV>
<DIV>Goldfinches</DIV>
<DIV>Pine siskins --perhaps 12</DIV>
<DIV>Rose breasted Grosbeak, female</DIV>
<DIV>W.B. nuthatch</DIV>
<DIV>Sapsucker</DIV>
<DIV>Blue Jays</DIV>
<DIV>Hairy Woodpecker</DIV>
<DIV>Pileated Woodpecker</DIV>
<DIV>Downy Woodpecker</DIV>
<DIV>Red -winged Blackbird</DIV>
<DIV>Swainson's thrush (at suet feeder)</DIV>
<DIV>Yellow-rumped warblers, a small wave</DIV>
<DIV>Woodduck pair</DIV>
<DIV>Loon</DIV>

<DIV>It hardly seemed right to enjoy such a variety of birds without walking in
the cold, but a nice treat for Mothers Day.</DIV>
