A drive through Whitewater on Hwy 74 brought a few shorebirds: yellow legs, Pectoral Sandpiper, Dunlin, Spotted Sandpiper. Also in Dorman Ponds were nesting Trumpeter Swan, close Hooded Mergs. many Green-winged Teal . I did not scope every body of water so you may find many more shorebirds.

American White Pelicans were in Doerer pools.

The road is open with more deep potholes than usual.

Side note. A bill proposed
by Sen.Jeremy Miller (head of the Senate) pressured by locals to pave MN Hwy 74 has been introduced.

If it does pass you will be on the highway from xxxx birding winter summer spring fall
while distracted drivers whiz by this premier wildlife management area.
Please contact your senator and representative.
