Here are photos from the North American Bluebird society.

An article in today's StarTribune by Jim Williams report that great numbers of bluebirds were killed in storms in the south and that bluebird numbers returning north appear to be drastically reduced.

Subject: [Mnbird] Need advice.

Last year I saw two blue birds fly through the yard.
Got all excited and built and hung two Blue bird houses.
Went to check them this am and they appear to be stuffed with sparrow house keeping, cleaned them out. They are not the Peterson type just DNR specs. Have two Peterson types partially cut out but not assembled. What do Blue Bird nestlings look like, don’t want to clean out their nests should they use them. Please advise where to go from here. Thank you!
PS would like to build more houses but the lumber yard is a scary place these days.
