The best way to see hummingbirds is with suction window designs.
My favorites are Perky Pet (f farm). Plastic and light. Both models use a separate suction cup. Practice attaching the vessel to the base using water.

The 2 port model is more delicate the two prongs holding the clear vessel to the red base. A light hand works best to prevent breakage of the red prongs. Attach the perch.

The 3 port model has attached perches and is more stiff when attaching the vessel to the base. It can feels like they never connect but will.

Lightly spray vegetable oil into a smidgeon of paper towel/napkin and apply to ports. Ants are kept away and wasps are discouraged.

Either model works on stationary window reached from outside. Crank out windows with screens removed work well too with a little practice using water. Blinds prevent the birds from seeing you.

Yesterday before the heavy rain 6 adult males were vying for ports on three adjacent windows each with a 3 port feeder. Let the fun begin. I’m going through 2 quarts of sugar water in 1 and 1/2 days for 4 feeders. Mornings, dinner to sunset and prior to rain are the busiest times. Once several adult males go through adults become less frequent. The juveniles are another story.

For good online source for detailed age identification is Bill Hilton, Jr.s
Rubythroat.org. He also has teaching units.
