[Mnbird] 122nd Annual Audubon Christmas Bird Count

The 122nd Annual Audubon Christmas Bird Count starts Wednesday. While many
counts have restricted participation because of Covid, others welcome new
participants. This is a great way to find new birds and discover new
locations. Even if you can not get out to bird, if you live within one of
the over 80 count circles, and have feeders, you can count the
birds visiting your feeders.

Counts that may have limited space for new participants:
St.Paul (NE), Bloomington, Hastings, Afton, Henderson

Counts that any extra participation will have a significant impact:
Fairmount, Jackson County, Murray County, Little Falls, Greenwald, Hibbing,
Lambert, Mille Lacs South, Pipestone, Rice Lake NWR, Virginia

Counts that do not need new participants:
Minneapolis North, Sherburne, Cedar Creek Bog, Sax/Zim

http://moumn.org/CBC. Due to Covid, you will be expected to bird your area
with little to no contact with other participants. But, even untrained
birders with a camera are better than no one covering the area. The CBC is
an annual bird census in a defined area on a particular day around
Christmas.
