Good evening!  My husband and I had a lovely visit this evening by an
American Redstart and mate.  They did not stay long, but were very
active moving about the flower garden and the birdbath. They are not a
common bird for us here, so we were quite enthralled.

On Monday we were out for a morning walk and found our small local lake
very active with hummingbirds.  There is some kind of yellow flowering
plant among the cattails that they were busy feeding on.  We have
several in our yard right now, but this was quite a widespread
presence.  Familiar with the chittering sound they make made it easy for
us to find and observe them in the reeds.  Fun stuff, Cindy in North Mankato
