FOY indigo bunting appeared on Saturday, May 15. Heard calling today for
the first time.
And, (Not a Bird!), yesterday a white-tail doe that has been visiting all
winter with a coat that looked really ratty (I suspected mange), appeared
with a day-old fawn after a couple weeks' absence! This is the earliest I
have ever observed a doe with a fawn. The deer are now molting into the
beautiful tawny summer coat. Nature keeps serving up surprises.
