Sunday was a lovely day well spent in handsome Hanska watching flocks of flickers pound the ground in search of food and marveling at the great woolly bear caterpillar migration crossing a road. The winter forecasts of the woolly worms varied. Folklore says the bigger the brown band, the milder the winter. With the first sighting of a junco on Friday, can the first trackable snowfall be six weeks away?
