[Mnbird] Question about Egrets

Could be West Nile Virus. It is being implicated in an unexpected drop of the Ruffed Grouse population. The mosquito that carries west nile is a frequent breeder in swamps, especially in the western counties but has been noted in Henn. county.
But this is just speculation on my part.

Subject: [Mnbird] Question about Egrets
I was surprised this week to see a listing of a Great Egret in the eBird Rare Bird Alert for Minnesota. I have noticed that I'm not seeing Egrets in the Twin Cities like I used to. At most, I've seen two or three this season. In years past, I would see them frequently flying around town. Can someone tell me what's happening?
