[Mnbird] Mothers' Day

Couldn't help thinking about mothers during the stormy rain last night. In the brush by a fence in my back yard sits the ultimate dedicated mom, a hen mallard, keeping 10 eggs warm and dry as she is pelted by the rain, buffeted by the wind, probably frightened by the twisting movements of the tree branches above during the storm. I think she needs about 5 to 7 more days. Good moms keep everything going.
