A question for those of you that had a more significant snow event
earlier in the week...or in the past after wood cock have arrived.
Have any of you been into areas this species frequents after a snow
event, when the snow lingers multiple days? I am curious as to the
coping mechanisms of these birds, with such specialized beaks...or do
they just perish for lack of food? I don't see how they can have much
for fat reserves after migration.
