Has anyone ever observed this behavior? While sitting at my kitchen island and gazing out the window, a pair of Wood Ducks flew out of an Oak toward my direction. The hen was carrying an egg in her bill. I wasn’t able to get to another window to see where they went. We have 7 Wood Duck houses and many pair.
