[Mnbird] Avian flu

Just a thought about bird flu.
DNR says waterfowl are the likely carrier of the bird flu virus affecting Minnesota turkeys. However, not many ducks or geese make a habit of flying by, near or into turkey confinement barns. But, common pigeons. house sparrows and starlings do. These species commonly fly between agricultural and livestock buildings and feed on the grains and feedstuffs found there and, of course, defecate. Another possibility is that organisms from the fecal matter of these birds are brought by mice into the barns. There is no such thing as a mouse proof ag building.
